Direct Primary Care (DPC) allows doctors to spend more time doing the things that matter: taking care of your family. By choosing not to accept insurance, DPC doctors can see fewer patients and offer many services for the price of a predictable monthly membership.

With longer visits, predictable costs, minimal wait times, and direct access to the doctor, DPC is changing the healthcare landscape. It is patient-centered healthcare, not governed by insurance companies.

A monthly membership fee gives your child access to Dr. Watson for scheduled well-visits, unexpected sick visits, and visits for many other common pediatric questions, concerns, and illnesses. For more significant procedures like stitches, small charges may apply for materials used - but never for the visit itself.

DPC is NOT a replacement for insurance. Instead, it’s a way for patients to regain control of their care for everyday problems. Insurance is still highly recommended to cover you in the case of unexpected, serious, or chronic conditions, but you might not need a low deductible if your kids are seeing a DPC doctor for most of their visits.

We’ve chosen Direct Primary Care because we believe it the best way for us to provide quality healthcare. Below are just a few of the many reasons we’ve made that choice.

Dr. Watson Meeting with a Family

No one stands between you and your doctor.

When you have a question or concern, Dr. Watson is your point of contact - there are no gatekeepers here. We have a dedicated phone line for patients to communicate with Dr. Watson, and we use Atlas MD for easy access to your records, prescriptions, billing, and more. Atlas MD also includes a patient web portal and iOS app.

Family Centered Healthcare

With DPC, healthcare revolves around your family.

Well visits, sick visits, blood draws, and vaccinations can all be done at one location and with one doctor - ours. We can also prescribe and dispense most common pediatric medications on-site for our patients. You don’t have to bring your child to multiple facilities to keep them healthy.

You make the decisions - we help you make the right ones.

Take control of your healthcare. Don’t let insurance dictate when, where, or how your children receive care. The insurance system is complex and slow, and it can take some of the decisions out of your hands.

When we don’t have the answer for you, we can facilitate an outside consult at a reasonable price and in a timeframe that works for you… no spending weeks in limbo waiting for that referral.

Transparent Pricing

With a monthly membership, your child’s primary care expenses are both reasonable and predictable. While most services are included in the membership, a test or procedure may incur a small materials cost - but no other fees.

That means a procedure (like stitches) might cost you $25 after a few minute wait in our office, instead of a $400+ visit and a long, uncomfortable wait at an urgent care facility.

Longer visits, flexible scheduling.

We could describe a typical doctor’s office visit for you, but you know what those are like. We don’t like them, either. Here's what a typical visit with us is like…

You walk into our office at the historical Ralph Pill Marketplace, and it feels a bit like home. Justin hears you enter and greets you by name - because we know you and we don’t have anyone else scheduled during your visit. Dr. Watson has just finished preparing, and she comes out to say hello and check on the family before taking your child into the exam room. She does her medical thing, asks lots of questions (and listens to the answers) and when she’s done, she takes the time to discuss her findings with the family. If you have questions or concerns, you get to ask them before you leave. When you’re done, we’ll do some follow-up scheduling, and that’s probably it. You’re done. No wait, no payment, no hassle.

You may spend 45 minutes in the office, but that entire visit is with the doctor. And if you can’t make it in, we also offer home visits for a modest charge. We can be flexible when emergencies arrive, or if your schedule requires you to bring your children in outside of our regular hours - just tell us the situation and we’ll help you find a solution.
